Readiness, Resilience & Resources
In recent years, fires, floods, drought and the ongoing pandemic have brought unforeseeable challenges to the community of Lithgow. Now is the time to come together as a community and prepare for the future, together.
Our residents have fresh experiences of living through and seeing the impact of natural disasters and want to feel empowered and prepared rather than afraid. Community members are thinking more about these events and are interested in learning more about preparedness as well as the more ‘practical’ considerations of protecting your family, animals and home.
Emergency disaster management is more effective when everyone in the community works and plans together. Our community will face disasters again in the future, in one form or another, and the best way to recover & thrive is to be aware and be prepared. Research shows that the more prepared a community is for disasters, the more resilient they become, the better their recovery will be.
Watch the Readiness Rally 2021 sessions and take important steps to ensure you know the risks, plan ahead for prevention, know how to respond during a disaster and be more resilient.
